After painting the outline of the bridge and trees, I am ready to paint the evening sky. I start with the sky because it the farthest thing in the distance. This is chroma therapy for me. I work in the darker blue violet color at the top of the canvas and the sky becomes lighter toward the horizon line. I like the idea of the evening sky pouring over the canvas and I try to emulate that in the painting process.
