After painting successive layers of white gesso, I added two coats of grey gesso to the yet to be titled 30" X 40" canvas. The darker grey will be a good base for the nocturnal image that I plan to paint. A photo of the Korean Veterans Bridge in downtown Nashville is the reference image for this painting. Bridges are interesting sources of inspiration for me. In this time of social isolation and distancing due to the corona virus concerns, a bridge can synbolize the coming together of differing opinions in a time of confusion.
