Today, on a wintry Valentine's Day, I am doing of one the things I love to do: painting a Nashville cityscape. This is a 20" X 60" canvas with 7 coats of gesso. Grey gesso creates a neutral base for a darker nocturnal scene. Working from a reference photograph of the Shelby Street split between the Shelby Street Bridge and the Korean Veterans Bridge, I am painting a basic outline of the city in the distance.
