Painting is stupid. And this is the reason I like the simple, even instinctual; act of smearing paint on the surface of a canvas. When I paint, I know right away if colors, shapes, and lines are working for me. I don't really have to think. I use a medium size flat paint brush because I want to add large swaths of color with minimal detail. Hopefully, I am creating variety of shapes with an interesting color combination. Using a smaller brush would force me to focus on the details and I am not ready for that now.
