Today, I am returning to "Berlin Along the Spree" as I allow the "Roam" painting to cure. My focus is to paint in a basic outline of the architectural elements of the composition. I am feeling very inspired by the contrast of the mid-century Fernsehturm in the distance and the Baroque Revivalist style of the domed Bode Museum to the right of the river. Nature asserts itself with a tree to the left and the rippling waters of the river in the foreground. I am using a number 10 filbert brush with a mixture of French Ultramarine Blue, a little Permanent Alizarin Crimson and Titanium White to give shadowy shape to Berlin's night scene.
